The ESIPGIMSR is poised as one of its kind institutions in imparting postgraduate medical education of high quality, duly registered with the National Medical Commission. The institute follows a stringent transparent admission policy for the purpose of identifying the best of the lot for selection into its postgraduate programs.

The admission cycle of ESIPGIMSR is synchronously conducted with the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET PG) schedule. The eligibility criterion for admission to ESIPGIMSR requires fulfilling the NEET-PG exam along with the MBBS course completion from an institution recognized by the MNC. The other scores expected for admission to its postgraduate programs are based on NEET PG only.

The NEET PG scores determine the selection process at ESIPGIMSR, which follows a seat distribution pattern, ensuring diversity and equal opportunity. 40 percent of the total seats are for the All India quota, which is filled on an all-India basis. 40 percent of the seats are kept for State quota candidates. The rest of the 20 percent is proposed to be reserved for ESI doctors of the state quota.

Application Process

Applications to ESIPGIMSR are interrelated to NEET-PG examination and counselling. Here is a breakdown of procedures for aspiring candidates:

1. Take your NEET-PG exam: Register and appear for NEET-PG based on the dates announced by the National Board of Examinations.

2. NEET PG Result: Wait until the results for NEET-PG are announced. Ensure that you meet the cut-off scores required for admission eligibility.

3. Counselling Registration: Register for the NEET PG counselling procedure. Registration is mostly done through online centralised counselling.

4. Choice Filling: As part of the counselling process, fill in your choices of colleges and courses, including ESIPGIMSR, and your most preferred programs.

5. Seat Allotment: Based on your NEET PG rank and choices, seats will be allocated. If you are allotted a seat at ESIPGIMSR, move on to the next step.

6. Document Verification: Report to ESIPGIMSR for the verification of documents. Carry along all relevant documents:

• NEET PG admit card and result
• MBBS degree certificate and mark sheets
• Internship completion certificate
• Valid ID proof
• Category certificate (if applicable)      
• Any other documents specified by the institute.

7. Payment of Fees: If your documents are verified successfully, make the required payment of admission fees to secure your seat.

8. Medical Examination: Undertake a medical examination according to the requirements of the institution.

9. Admission Confirmation: In case all of the above are satisfactorily done, your admission in ESIPGIMSR will be confirmed.

Degree-wise Admission Process

MD Pulmonary Medicine: The two seats for this course are available at ESIPGIMSR. Admittance is dependent on NEET PG. Candidates must complete their MBBS degree and comply with the eligibility criteria as per the National Medical Commission.

MS Orthopaedics: Two seats are also available for this postgraduate course in MS Orthopaedics at the institute. The selection of candidates for MS Orthopaedics will be based on the NEET PG performance. Eligibility is completion of an MBBS degree and fulfillment of the NMC eligibility criteria for postgraduate medical education.

The MS General Surgery program offers 1 seat, and admissions will be based on merit in NEET PG, counselling, and eligibility. Candidates should have completed their MBBS and all other requirements.

One seat in MD Anaesthesiology is available for the degree. Selection is on the basis of merit in NEET-PG, followed by counselling; candidates must possess an MBBS degree and satisfy the eligibility criteria laid down by the regulatory bodies.
