ESI Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science and Research, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, was inaugurated in the year 2009. The institute accepts scores from the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate, a country-level examination for medical postgraduate admissions. The seat distribution is 40% of total seats in the All India Quota, allotted on an all-India basis, and another 40% reserved for State Quota candidates. It is proposed to reserve the remaining 20% of seats for ESI doctors from the state quota.
