The Candidate should pass a BA Degree in English language and Literature / Functional English / Communicative English with 50% marks in Part-I+II+III together / 50% Marks for Part-III alone or B. A degree in English language and Literature / Functional English / Communicative English with a Master's Degree in English Language and Literature with not less than 50% marks or B.A/B.Sc with 50% marks for Part I English and Master's Degree in English Language and Literature with not less than 50% marks. B.A. English Honours Degree from Central Universities or State Universities with 50 % marks recognized by UGC.
