FIMS the Farook Institute of Management Studies which was established in 2006 as a premier educational centre situated in Kozhikode, Kerala. This affiliated college is also known as FIMS Calicut and this College has made a name for it self offering quality management education. Recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education-AICTE), FIMS functions from a 3.5 acre campus. The institute offers education to 195 students and is staffed by 14 professional educators. That is why FIMS provides student with an MBA and focuses on the training of professional management specialists. The institute is co-educational in nature, which has seen it maintain the quality learning environment for any managers in the making.

Farook Institute of Management Studies promotes students to have a number of approaches and facilities for enhancing their educational environment. It has functional admirably supplied clinic and air conditioned class rooms thus providing best environment for learning. Each student is provided with up to date computer and software in the modern computer laboratory which gives the students a chance to expose themselves with current market trend. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled to support all academic activities without much interference from network interruptions. FIMS also has Male and Female hostels to host 130 and 150 students respectively to the courses that they offer. These hostels have Wi-Fi and comfortable shared sleeping facilities with the essential uses of furniture. The library of the institute is a store house of information where they avail more than 7000 books, 25 journals and 20 periodicals and electronic databases. Indoor sports facilities for the extra curriculum are also available at FIMS include table tennis, carom and chess. The campus also still has an up to date canteen where freshly prepared balanced meals are served under stimulating and clean conditions.

The institute offers but one programme and this is the MBA, which is a two years full time course. FIMS approves an intake of 120 for this programme that provides the impetus to a number of aspiring management professional every year. The MBA programme is aimed at explaining various aspects of managing a business and preparing the learner to meet the challenges that arise in the job market. Alone, the institute presently only delivers one main programme of study, but its focus on the execution of management studies is substantial.

FIMS believes in admitting only the best candidates for its MBA programme and the process for admission is very keen and strict. Candidates must clear national level entrance examinations like the CAT, MAT, CMAT or KMAT Kerala that the aspiring students have to take. These papers tests a candidate’s quantitative, verbal, and logical reasoning skills to safeguard the admission of students with the appropriate caliber for management courses. Any of these tests is considered valid scores from which the institute requires all students to provide before they can be admitted.
