Farooqia College of Pharmacy, Mysore (FCP) is one of the pioneer college in the field of pharmacy and ranked as one of the best college for Pharmacy. This affiliated college was set up in 1980 and is situated at Tilak Nagar, Eidgah Compound Mysore – 570 001Karnataka. Such a college is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) which means that this college follows the educational standard that has set in India. FCP is a small school located in a small plot of land of 0.75 acres and the school has a total of 493 students currently enrolled in the school. This college has a cordial reception and I was informed that the current faculty strength of the college is 32 members, students teacher ratio has therefore been kept favourable. FCP currently offers four specific courses to various levels of schooling and research in pharmacy.
Farooqia College of Pharmacy aims at ensuring students get all they require by providing them with various amenities in their development process. It is a knowledge centre that supplies relevant materials needed for the study of pharmacy. Modern facilities allow preparing students for practical activities that define professionalism in the fields they are to work in. As for students’ welfare FCP also offers students possibility to exercise offering them sport installations and a gym. The college provides separate hostels for boys and girls for out station students so as to help students to live comfortably. A campus amphitheater is used to host academic meetings with the purpose of advancing knowledge and ideas. IT help in contemporary learning practices, cafeteria to help students spend their free time. Currently Farooqia College of Pharmacy has four full time courses which provide diverse sectors in pharmaceutical education. The academic programmes offered by the college are B.Pharma, Diploma in Pharmacy, Pharm.D Programme and Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate. These courses can be credited to provide a flexible system for students depending on the dream job in the pharmaceutical business. There is a total of 140 students who are intake per year based on this courses while B.Pharma has 60. It is seen that this range of programmes enable students to select courses according to the pharmaceutical sector in which they want to be employed.
