Gandhi Institute of Biological Science, Rayagada (GIBS) is one of the leading self financing college of integrated courses in biological science established in the year 2003. This co-educational institute is in Gunupur, Rayagada district of Odisha Although this institution occupies 43. acres of land, it is relatively young compared to some of the oldest universities, being established in December 2008. GIBS is an affiliated college, with so many programmes offered in Science and Agriculture. 

There are also so many facilities at GIBS that have been set up for the purpose of improving the learning facilities of the various students. Our institute boasts of a well-equipped, fully air-conditioned library that is open 24/07/04/2021. It contains 63,968 books, 9,929 titles, and the subscriptions in print journals include 104 international and national print journals and 664 online journals, 49 magazines and 21 newspapers. Modern technological facilities and wireless internet is provided and arranged in the campus with full amenities to support the students. Sports lovers find GIBS convenient since the school provides football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, and shuttle badminton cultivating healthy learners between books and games.

It has a total of 6 courses and all these programmes are only available as full time programmes. These include five postgraduate courses: M.Sc. Biotechnology , Post graduate courses are M.Sc. Physics , M.Sc. Mathematics, M.Sc. Life Science, M.Sc. Chemistry and one under graduate course B.Sc. Agriculture. The M.Sc. programmes are two-year programmes and the B.Sc. Agriculture programme is a three-year course.
