Gandhi Institute of Biological Science, Rayagada (GIBS) is one of the leading self financing college of integrated courses in biological science established in the year 2003. This co-educational institute is in Gunupur, Rayagada district of Odisha Although this institution occupies 43.05 acres of land, it is relatively young compared to some of the oldest universities, being established in December 2008. GIBS is an affiliated college, with so many programmes offered in Science and Agriculture. 

The institute presently offers 6 courses at two different levels of study, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It has a total of 6 courses and all these programmes are only available as full time programmes. These include five postgraduate courses: M.Sc. Biotechnology , Post graduate courses are M.Sc. Physics , M.Sc. Mathematics, M.Sc. Life Science, M.Sc. Chemistry and one under graduate course B.Sc. Agriculture. The M.Sc. programmes are two-year programmes and the B.Sc. Agriculture programme is a three-year course. However, specific intake details other than the M.Sc. Biotechnology for which has an approved 60 intake capacity are not provided. This is because, the institute aims at fostering science and agriculture that are core areas of study.
