Gandhi Polytechnic Berhampur was set up in the year 2009 in the campus of Govt ITI Golanthara, Berhampur, Odisha. This is a co-educational institution located across acre 5.13 area and here, the institute offers diploma course in the field of engineering. Total number of students enrolled in the institutions are 1125 and the faculty has been strengthening with 52 members, Gandhi Polytechnic makes a healthy environment for technical education. The institute has four diploma courses all of which are carried out as full time programmes to cater for the various engineering fields. Being an affiliated college it is in forefront of determining the pragmatic technical future of the region.

The institute has several facilities available for the purpose of improving students’ learning process. The campus has well maintained laboratories for the training of students besides the knowledge taught in class. With appropriately planned, large library is functioning as a source of knowledge providing all kinds of textbooks, references, and online accesses. For more needy students the institute offers standard hostels for boys and girls with a capability of holding two hundred students in twin bedded rooms. These are social halls where students gather to socialise and mess where they eat, found in each of the hostels. The campus is facilitated with a canteen, health centre, and also sports amenities such as cricket ground, volley ball court, and a football field which make of of the holistic tenet.

There are four diploma courses being offered at Gandhi Polytechnic, Berhampur, all of which are the full time courses of a three-year span. The courses cover key engineering disciplines: opted specialisation in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Unfortunately, it is hard to discuss intake details of the courses individually although, the overall student intake is 1,125 across all programmes.
