Ganga Institute of Health and Sciences commonly known as GIHS which started in the year 2010 is a healthcare educational institute in Coimbatore Tamilnadu. This affiliated college is provided with the recognition from Indian Nursing Council (INC) and offers assorted courses in healthcare. Tucked in a relatively large parcel of land of 13.42 acres of land, GIHS offers a favourable learning environment to the students. The institute employs 40 dedicated faculty members for 8 courses that cover two degree levels. GIHS is focused on high quality health care training with concentration on nursing, radiography, physician assistant and other allied health sciences.

They include class rooms,computer and language laboratories,science laboratories,slide making laboratories, studios, media centre and many others. A well-stocked library is available with more than 3000 books, references, journals, and periodicals to support e-journals for students’ optimum academic needs. Boutique modern facilities enable students to receive practical training in every department of the laboratory to prepare them for their future jobs. GIHS also has well equipped hostel for boys and girls with modern facilities situated in a calm and serene environment within the campus. The institute has provisions of sports and gymnasium for students’ physical development and courses & seminars are also conducted in the auditorium.

Currently, GIHS provide only full-time study programme with 8 courses with prime focus on healthcare and allied Sciences at the undergraduate levels. The courses of the institute are under graduate and post graduate nursing and para medical courses namely B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Radiology and Imaging Technology, B.Sc. Physician Assistant, B.Sc. Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology ,B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology, B.Sc. Critical Care Technology, B.Sc. Accident and Emergency Care Technology and M.Sc. Clinical Nutrition. These programmes aims at catering for the increasing need of trained personnel in the health sector subspecialties. The total approved intake for the undergraduate programmes is between twenty and fifty seats for each course thus enables every student to get the attention he or she deserves and get quality education.
