GEMS Polytechnic College, Ratanpura, was established in the year 2015. It is a co-educational institution and an affiliated college located in Bihar, India. The college is approved by AICTE and offers different diploma courses in the stream of engineering. The GEMS Polytechnic is spread over a sprawling 5 acre campus with the student enrolment in the college is 406, and the faculty strength is 42, hence maintaining a very good student-teacher ratio.

The college has many facilities to support the students in learning and all-round development. The campus has two separate hostels for boys and girls, managed by a warden or senior residents who extend their help and assistance towards the students. A well-built library functions as a knowledge center, and several state-of-the-art laboratories are present for various engineering disciplines. It has modern IT infrastructure, sports facilities, and a gymnasium on campus. 

GEMS Polytechnic College runs five full-time diploma courses in engineering with three years of duration. These are: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. The College lays much emphasis on practical, industry-oriented education so that students can have lucrative careers in the chosen fields.                     

The admission into GEMS Polytechnic College is mainly on the basis of the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination. Candidates seeking admission need to apply for the Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination through DCECE. This entrance test is a reflection of aptitude and knowledge in subjects related to their respective courses, hence admitting only merited students into the institution.
