GHG Harparkash College of Education for Women, Ludhiana, was set up in 1955; it is one of the leading colleges for women education in the Punjab, India. It is affiliated college is located in Sidhwan Khurd and comprises 13-acres of land for the college. It is affiliated to NAAC and recognized by NCTE and offer four special courses in education. combining a total of 132 student and a faculty of 14 renders the college to continue to manage its small scale learning centre.
GHG Harparkash College of Education for Women has installed a number of and sophisticated equipments which are very useful in the college education of the students. The up-to-date science laboratory conducted enables the students to practice what they learn as they carry out experiments. The library a storehouse of knowledge has books, journals and articles with catalogued system where can find information easily. For the students who may need special accommodation the college has good hostels with all requisite facilities with an efficient warden. There is also a large hall for assembly, spacious and well ventilated with a sitting capacity of 500 which is fully equipped with modern A/V requirements for conferences, seminar and extension lectures etc. Playground is available for hockey, volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton, kho-kho, and cricket enthusiasts and other games can be stepped up with permission from the college.
Currently, GHG Harparkash College of Education for Women has four courses which are all full time courses. These are two undergraduate courses, one postgraduate course and one doctoral programme. This college has a total intake capacity of 300 students at present but we have been authorized for recruitment 250 students for the B. Ed programme and 50 students for the M.Ed programme.
