Guru Harekshariji Ghooman College of Shaheed Udhar, Punjab was set up in 1948 at Sudhar, Ludhiana as a co-educational institution. Situated on a vast area of 26 acres this affiliated college is duly accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and also approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Offering 39 courses in 14 degrees, this College has a strength of 2028 students and faculty of 35 teachers in total. Of these, B.Com has the largest intakes with 140 direct admissions, followed by B.P.Ed with 100 and MA English with 60. To meet such a demand, the college also has emerging programmes like B.Voc in Food Processing and Quality Management. 

The admission process of GHG Khalsa College is based on merit; however, different procedures are likely to follow each course. For example, the admission to B.P.Ed and M.P.Ed programmes require entrance test in written, fitness test, interview, in addition to the percentage of the qualifying examination. The B.Voc programmes are based on merit cum means criteria as per the reservation policy of Panjab University for admission.
