Lal Bahadur Shashtri Memorial Govt.(Co-Educational) College Tanda Urmar Hoshiarpur which was founded in 1951. As an affiliated college established on a 43-acres land it has been providing educational services for more than seven decades. Approved by the NAAC of India, the college provides students a wide spectrum of 9 courses in 6 degree programmes. Total enrolment of students and faculty position of the college is 1,165 & 48 respectively hence offers the best environment within and outside classroom.

It is worthy to note that the college has installed so many marvelous learning facilities to supplement the process of learning. Its home to a good library, which may be used as a source of information by both the student’s and faculty. This institution boasts of departmental laboratory as practical arenas across all the learning fields of study. For fans of pro health body build up, there is a well equipped gym on the compound to help them hone their bodies. The college IT facilities keep the students up to date on the progression of IT technology. Sports freaks have full opportunity to use facilities provided by the college. In addition, there is a cafeteria that provides social interaction place for students and staffs. This college provides all the facilities of full time courses which are necessary for students who want to have interest in specific field of study. To date the college offers 9 courses across the undergraduate and postgraduate levels of study. Among these are popular programmes such as BA, B.Com, B.Sc (Medical and Non-Medical), BCA, MA Political Science, B.Sc Agriculture and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application Self Financing. The B.Com programme, one of the flagship courses, has its approved strength at 70 students and the MA Political Science at 60 students. The PGDCA Self Finance course is offered for one academic year and has a holding capacity of forty-five students.
