Girijabai Sail Institute of Technology (GSIT) was established in 2012, the institution is located in Karwar, Karnataka. Located on the Karnataka-Goa border, it is one among the affiliated colleges spread over 11.6 acre of land. Karwar’s recognised by University Grants Commission or UGC of India, therefore students get its education from an authentic centre known as GSIT Karwar in short. At the present time, the institute teaches three undergraduate engineering courses with an average enrolment of 185 students and 18 faculties. The institute has installed various technologically developed facilities to shape the learning and development of the students systematically. Well-equipped hostels for boys and girls are available in the GSIT for out-door students to provide them with a comfortable and attractive atmosphere. The campus comprises a good and standard library that acts as an information bank for the learners and academic staff. To the learners who are interested in sports and physical activities, the college offers amazing sports amenities and contains a gym, which ensures learners are not only thinking but also active. Technologically, GSIT has some excellent IT infrastructure provided for the support of its engineering programmes. Also within the campus compounds there are fully equipped laboratories, a hall for events and seminars, and a cafeteria. On the issue of health there is a provision of a medical facility that will be charged with offering any first aid medical care.

GSIT Karwar currently offers three full-time Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programmes: The four major departments included Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. All of these programmes are set as four-year ones and foster students’ positive outlooks on their chosen disciplines to thrive within the framework of current developments in technology.
