Gita Teachers Training College, Bankura was started in the year 2017; hence, it is a relatively new institution imparting education in teaching. This co-educational college is located at Gogra, Kotalpur, Bankura District, West Bengal. This institution is affiliated and duly recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Presently, Gita Teachers Training College offers two regular courses at the undergraduate level: Bachelor of Education and Diploma in Elementary Education. The former is popularly known as B.Ed. and the latter as D.El.Ed.

The admission procedure in Gita Teachers Training College is merit-based, based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or the entrance examination. The institution follows the policy framed by the state government of West Bengal and Bankura University in its entire admission process. In the case of the B.Ed course, the selection may have additional requirements as stipulated by the university. The D.El.Ed admission will also be made on a merit basis following the state government's policy.
