Gitanjali College of Pharmacy, Birbhum, is a somewhat new institution, founded in 2019. This affiliated college at Lohapur Village, Nalhati, in the Birbhum District of West Bengal, spreads on 4 acres and has two specialised courses in pharmaceutical education. The institution is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, not only at the stage of establishment but also at the stage of continuation of the approval to assure quality education and to meet the industry standards. Here, the student enrolment is 60, while the faculty strength is 8. Therefore, GCP provides a good learning environment.

GCP has several facilities to make academics better and to enhance the student experience. It acts as the knowledge hub, and thus it provides a digitally well-equipped library with full access to various informative materials for learning purposes. Laboratories are well-equipped in the institute in order to nurture practical skills, which are an integral part of pharmacy education. The IT infrastructure is maintained within the college premises so that students can be connected with the upcoming modern technologies. Sports facilities and state-of-the-art auditorium provide opportunities for extra-curricular events at GCP. It also offers separate hostels for boys and girls to those students who come from different parts of the country.

At the academic front, Gitanjali College of Pharmacy presently offers two full-time courses: a four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharma) program and a two-year Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharma) program. The sanctioned intake for its B. Pharma course is 100, while that for its D. Pharma program is 60. The aim of both these programs is to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in the field of pharmaceutical sciences so as to enable them to face the challenges in the fast-emerging healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.

The admission process in Gitanjali College of Pharmacy is based on merit and inclusive. Admission to this college's B. Pharma course is done through two major entrance examinations; first, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)/JEE Main, and secondly, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam, and WBJEE.
