The GLS Institute of Teacher Education, Ahmedabad, was established in the year 2003 under the aegis of the GLS Trust in Gujarat. This affiliated college, situated opposite the Law Garden, Ellisbridge, has been shaping the future of many a career aspirant keen to take up teaching as a profession for almost two decades. The institute is deeply committed to the noble cause of teacher education through its D.El.Ed. program. The National Council for Teacher Education has approved this institute, which targets that GLS Institute of Teacher Education maintains high standards while preparing skilled and knowledgeable teachers for primary education.

The admission process of the GLS Institute of Teacher Education is aimed at choosing only those students with potential for teaching.
