About GMT College of Education, Ludhiana

GMT College of Education for Women, Ludhiana was established in 2005 and is a self financed college in this area of Punjab in India that has been particularly set up for training teachers. Located at Jalandhar Bypass Chowk, G.T Road this co-educational college aims at training prospective teachers for the future through its Bachelors of Education programme. The college is an affiliated college and has raised the required approvals from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) guaranteeing its conformity to the essential norms for teacher education in the country. 

GMT College of Education for Women has provision of several facilities that aim at improving students learning experience in the institution. The library is an essential part of the academic work, it currently possesses 6000 volumes, 14 journals and periodicals, 13 magazines, and 5 newspapers. There is plenty of material to use and students get the opportunities to borrow complete course sets for longer terms. Facilities of the college’s laboratories meet the standards set for Norms of NCTE and Panjab University. This laboratory comes equipped with the latest teaching aids such as the OHPs, slide and LCD projectors that can be used to enhance on teaching Delivery, The psychology laboratory has all tests as per course curriculum. There are 15 computers in the computer lab connected to the internet and a language laboratory equipped with 11 computers familiarizes all students with technological aspects in learning. Science lab has all working models, apparatus and chemicals that are necessary for hands on experience of students.

GMT College of Education has only one programme in its portfolio - a two-year full-time Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This course is planned to get qualification of student for the teaching profession, including educational theories, teaching techniques, and even initial teaching practice.
