The Goa Dental College and Hospital (GDCH) is a pioneer dental college which was founded in 1980 and is located at Bambolim in Goa. This affiliated college is recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and has been imparting education and creating a ready formulated dental health care future for over four decades. Located in a vast compound of about 11.11 acres, GDCH provides several courses to students who wish to practice dentistry. The college has a strength of 185 students and faculty and teaching staff of 62 members which makes the student teacher ratio of 18:01 that facilitates and encourages close teacher-student interaction.
A number of amenities are available for students in Goa Dental College and Hospital supposed to improve their learning abilities and lifestyle. The college has its own hostels for boys and girls and residents who want to be accommodated with comfort can probably be accommodated here. Beneath the college, there are 9 types of dental courses that one can take either as a first degree, masters or even a doctorate. The essence of its programme is the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) that is the basic professional degree in dentistry. Another offering of GDCH are different specialisations of Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) for candidates interested in enhanced practice in specific fields.

Goa Dental College and Hospital (GDCH), Bambolim, is a renowned dental college, which is certified by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The institution provides various dental courses, which include Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and specializations in Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). GDCH provides a merit-based admission process for its candidates, where only top candidates are accepted for their respective courses.
The admission process of GDCH generally coincides with the dental education national calendar. For undergraduate, the college takes into account the marks of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). For post-graduation admission, the marks of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) are taken into account.
For the BDS course, the minimum eligibility standard is passing the 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects. The admission is mainly done on the basis of the candidate's NEET score and performance in the entry level test. The college offers 50 seats for the BDS course.
Application Process
Goa Dental College and Hospital, Bambolim, application procedure differs as per various programs:
For BDS Program:
1. Pass the NEET exam with a meritorious mark.
2. Fill the application for admission to the BDS program by centralized admission following state government policy.
3. Complete all the documents necessary, i.e., NEET score card, 10+2 mark sheet, and all other necessary certificates.
4. Keep waiting for the announcement of the merit list by the admission committee.
5. If selected, come to GDCH for document verification and admission process.
For MDS Programs:
1. Give the NEET MDS exam and clear with a proper score.
2. Application for NEET MDS 2025 will be from 17th February 2025 to 9th March 2025.
3. Fill the application form of the desired course of MDS in GDCH according to the procedure of the college.
4. Fill the mandatory documents like NEET MDS score card, completion certificate of BDS degree, completion certificate of internship, etc.
5. Appear for counseling sessions in case of shortlisting by the college or state admission board, as and when announced by them.
6. On being selected, follow up by fee payment and furnishing original documents.
Degree wise Admission Process
BDS: The GDCH Bachelor of Dental Surgery course has 50 seats. Admission is based on the candidate's NEET score and qualifying exam (10+2) performance. Selection is purely on merit.
MDS Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge: This postgraduate program has 3 seats. Admission is based on the candidate's NEET MDS performance.
MDS Oral Medicine, Diagnosis and Radiology: The college has 3 seats for this specialty. The candidates are offered admission on the basis of their NEET MDS ranks.
MDS Periodontics: Admitting students with a strength of 3 seats, the course admits students on the basis of their NEET MDS scores.
MDS Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics: The specialty has 3 seats, and admission is decided on the basis of NEET MDS ranks.
MDS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: 3 seats are available for this course, and the candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their NEET MDS performance.
MDS Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry: This stream admits 3 seats. Candidates are provided with admission on the basis of their NEET MDS scores.
MDS Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics: 2 seats are available, and the candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their NEET MDS performance.
MDS Oral Pathology and Microbiology: 2 seats are available under the course, and admissions are done based on NEET MDS rankings.
