Gokhale Education Society's College of Education and Research, Parel, was established in 1970. This is one of the most prestigious college institutions located in the state of Maharashtra in Mumbai. It was a co-educational institution affiliated to the university. Also, it has sought approval from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and NAAC accredited institution. The college is located on a small campus of 2 acres. With special educational training, the college enrolment is 100 students and the faculty headcount is 5. 

Gokhale Education Society's College of Education and Research possesses various facilities for student-centred learning. The backbone of these facilities is an excellent, well-stocked library. It contains selected range of textbooks and reference materials, national and international educational journals, and electronic resources for study. The library also acts as an excellent resource centre for students pursuing degrees in B.Ed., D.S.M., and PhD. The college also has a modern computer lab with internet connection, to access the online resources, and make presentations and researches, equipping it with 20 PCs. 

The two courses offered by Gokhale Education Society's College of Education and Research include the two-year full-time Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme and the six year full-time Ph.D. in Education. The B.Ed programme provides the base for most of its courses and has an allotted strength of 50 students a year.

Admission for B.Ed at Gokhale Education Society's College of Education and Research is merit-based.
