Good Shepherd College of Education started in the year 2005 is one of the leading colleges in preparing teachers in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. This college is a Co-education college wherein it is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University and the college is approved by National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE). The college occupies a small piece of land of 0.77acres and therefore provides directed training to aspiring educators. Total number of students in the institute is 69 and faculty members are 10 that is why they provide quality education along with proper care and attention.

The Good Shepherd College of Education has effectively put in place a marvellous display of facilities that are intended to improve the learning capability of students. The library has an area space, and is an important focus of the academic process; it offers over 6100 books, audi-video resources and periodical, for both students and teaching staff. Modern computer laboratories and oratories for the Computer Science, Educational Technology, Physical Science, Biological Science, Psychology and Languages and other subjects are available for practicals. The college also has an auditorium that serves to help host events, seminars, and parties; sports facilities to encourage the physical health of students and workers; and a gym for the regular fitness freaks. The infrastructure for delivering modern education is particularly impressive namely IT facilities which help students adapt to the new informational-educational environment.

Good Shepherd College of Education has only one course, Bachelor of Education (B.ED) program. This is a two-year full course programme having an approved intake capacity of hundred comprising of dedicated faculties of a college level education. The B.Ed program is basically planned to produce knowledgeable, skilled and competent teachers and teachers trainers for the and better future of our country.
