Gour Mohan Sachin Mandal Mahavidyalaya (GMSMM) is recognized as one of the greatest institutions in Bireswarpur, 24 Parganas South, West Bengal, the college is affiliated with the University of Calcutta, which boasts an extensive range of undergraduate programs in different spheres. Admissions are strictly merit-based in GMSMM so that deserving students can have access to the courses of their choice. Similarly with every other institution, the admission cycle of GMSMM starts when 10+2 results are released by various boards. Though some minor dates vary, it takes place in May-June, primarily for the session that begins around July-August. 

The admission policy is open and fair; it strictly adheres to all courses, especially Honours courses, to merit-based systems.
All candidates intending to be admitted to GMSMM must have qualified 10+2 from a recognized board. The eligibility criteria apply differently for almost all courses, but in general, a good academic record in the relevant subjects is a requirement. Applications for admission to Honours courses are accepted based only on the merit attained in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent).

1 Admission Declaration: The commencement of the admission process is declared by the college on their official website and local newspapers.

2 Online Application: The candidates are supposed to fill in the online application form available at the official website of the college. It's mandatory to fill in the correct details.

3 Upload Documents: Candidates should upload scanned copies of the following documents:

• 10+2 mark sheet
• 10th standard certificate (for evidence of Age)
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Recent passport-size photograph

4 Payment of Application Fees: Application fees will be paid through online payment gateways provided on the admission portal.

5 Publication of the Merit List: College shall publish the merit lists for different courses on the college website and notice board. Depending on the availability of chairs, more than one list may be released.

6 Document Verification: The shortlisted participants would be required to visit the college campus for verification of original documents physically.

7 Fee Payment: After verification, the candidate is required to deposit the entry fee to confirm his seat.

8 Admission Confirmation: Acceptance of admission is after the completion of fee deposit and all processes.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.A.: GMSMM has several B.A. programs like Bengali, English, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Education, and Sanskrit. A total of 1,658 seats exist for B.A. programs in the college. Admission to B.A. Honours courses, such as Bengali Honours (219 seats) and History Honours (140 seats), is strictly merit-based, considering marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

B.Sc.: There are 122 seats available in the college for B.Sc. courses, which include Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, and Geography. For B.Sc. Honours in Geography, the admissions are conducted strictly on the basis of merit.

B.Com.: GMSMM has B.Com programs with 37 seats which includes specialized Accountancy Honours. In GMSMM admissions into B.Com. courses follow merit based approaches.
