Government Art and Design College, Nagpur was established in 1967 as a premier institution for the promotion of artistic talent and creativity. The affiliated college, spread over 3.11 acres, is located in the centre of Nagpur, Maharashtra. This college has an enrolment of 219 students in all, with a faculty of 16, so that every aspirant gets a personalised touch. In total, the institution offers four specialisations under two degree programmes in Painting and Applied Art at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Some colleges have their own entrance pattern for this course. And some colleges select candidates through the cut-off marks or merit-list created by the college.
