About Government Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram
Government Arts College Thiruvananthapuram was started in 1924 which is situated in the central Thiruvananthapuram city of Kerala. This co-educational college which is under the University of Kerala has scored its centennial year in the service of the academic fraternity. The college occupies only a 3-acre area but it provides a large variety of courses, undergraduate and postgraduate programs in arts and sciences. Having 752 students and 52 faculties, the college has comparatively a very good student-faculty ratio, which helps the faculties to pay individual attention to students as well as allow the students to achieve quality learning.
The college has the state of art facilities to complement the activities of the college. A spacious and fully automated Central Library occupying the first and second floor of the Library Block is stocked with over 40000 books and numbers of national and international research journals along with e-resources available through INFLIBNET. Currently, the campus has a wireless facility; therefore, the students are in a position to access the internet easily. The college has well-equipped mandatory practical laboratories in Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Biotechnology and Statistics. Technologically enabled fully furnished auditorium with sophisticated audio-visual system is utilized for several academic and cultural programs.
