About Government City College, Hyderabad

Government City College, Hyderabad (GCC) is one of the oldest, dignified colleges in South India and was established in 1929. This mens and womens college is sited in Hyderabad city and has a recognition of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). GCC has a general student enrolment of 4,519 and has exported 139 courses offered across the 7-degree programmes. The distribution for male and female students at the undergraduate level is 73: 27, while at the postgraduate level it is 50 : 50. The college therefore employs a total of 50 faculty members capable of offering service in various discipline in arts and sciences.

To support its students’ learning experience, Government City College conducts well equipped with modern facilities. It is a learning resource centre whereby students obtain information on various areas of study. Modern science laboratories fulfil the practical requirement of science students, and the computerised world enables students to be up-to-date on all the modern technologies. Cafeteria, Auditorium for Events and Seminars, College Sports facilities, Gymnasium, and Health care centre with first aid amenities are the other outstanding facilities provided in the College. These extras play part and par in the cultures of the institution, thus playing part in fostering education both within and outside classroom.

Government City College provides a wide spectrum of programmes, of which 139 full-time programme are available at the bachelor’s and master’s degrees-BBA, BA & B.Sc with various specialisations,MA English etc. Under its instructional offerings, the college offers 89% undergraduate curriculum and 11% postgraduate curriculum. Total strength of the students is 3793, total students enrolled for Undergraduate programmes is 4009, and for Post graduate programmes is 510.

Government City College admission policy clearly states that the institution accepts candidate with conscience and on merit. The college may accept performance in the qualifying examination for undergraduate admission. In cases where one is undertaking a post graduate course, there might be set examination to be done. Out of total students, 99 percent of students are admitted through statewide intermediate, while 1 percent students were admitted from other states of India. GCC has the goal of helping economically challenged students with 91 % of the undergraduate students and 76% of the postgraduate students being offered fee reimbursement.

Government City College, Hyderabad Admission

Initially known as the Degree College for Women, Government City College at Hyderabad was established in 1947, when it became the first women-only college after Indian independence, notably granting degree programs to women. Now the institution has gained an advanced reputation with an almost equal proportion of male and female students. The institution offers a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Over 70 different combinations of B.Sc degree programs are offered including the most sought-after options of Botany-Zoology-Chemistry, Mathematics-Physics-Computer Science and Microbiology-Biochemistry-Biotechnology.

B.Com: The college provides B.Com with specializations of General, Computer Applications, Foreign Trade, and Business Analytics. B.Com admissions are made on the basis of marks obtained in the intermediate examination, with preference to candidates who have taken Commerce or related subjects.

BA: The wide variety of BA programs offered by GCC have equally varied subject combinations. Marks in the 10+2 examination typically contribute to the admission process. Some of these include combinations such as History-Political Science-Mass Communication, Mathematics-Economics-Computer Applications, and other highly interdisciplinary combinations.

M.Sc: For post-graduate science programs, GCC is offering M.Sc courses in Mathematics, Biotechnology and Physics. Admission to the M.Sc programs may depend on the marks in the bachelor's program and an entrance test and/or interview.

MA: The college offers an MA program in English. Admission may depend on performance in the bachelor's degree, particularly if that degree was in English or a closely related subject.

No the college infrastructure is so poor , it doesn't have proper toilets for both men and women.Class rooms are also so bad , no proper lighting , the laboratories are good , hostel is not provided.library is the best part in our college.

Computer application is BCA not B.Com (//B.Com) anyway the fees for BCA lies between Rs20,000 to Rs 1 lakh per year depending on the college it's a 3 year course but the average fees if Rs 40,000 - Rs 50,000 per year i am giving you a link which will give you a list and fees of all BCA colleges in India

Government city College Hyderabad doesn't provide Bsc in psychology. Courses provided by it in Bsc are microbiology, biotechnology, electronic, zoology, physics, biochemistry, computer science, chemistry, mathematics, and botany. If you want to pursue Bsc psychology in Hyderabad then you should also consider these colleges as the provide your mentioned course :- Nizam college, yashoda nursing college, pragati Mahavidyalaya, aurora's degree college.

It is very hard to predict the exact percentage to get a free seat in bpa BHU. But you must score as much highest possible to remain in top of the list so that you can definitely get a free seat in BHU. The percentage depends upon the number of candidates and the highest marks obtained in bpa. So it varies each and every year.
