About Government College, Attingal

Attingal Government College was started in the year 1975 which is located at Attingal, Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. This affiliated college of deemed university got accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and it provides plethora of courses in undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Located in a 14.77-acre complex, the college offers total number of enrollments for 790 and employs faculty of 29 members. There are 11 courses taught under 7 degrees offered and focusing on topics like Economics, History, Commerce and Polymer Chemistry. With a strong focus on gender diversity, the college has a notable female-to-male student ratio of 3:1; of these, 83% are undertaking undergraduate courses while the rest 17% are in postgraduate courses.

Our college has a vision to offer a multifaceted academic climate that would require varied Amenities to enable our students’ nurturance. Among the amenities offered there is a library to which all modern facilities and sources of information is provided. The college has facilities of departmental laboratory for science course which are enabling students to practice on. The college also holds the heart health as they also have a gym for exercises to be undertaken by the students. In reference to this, to make the college experience complete there is a cafeteria area where students can interact. 

This means that the campus is connected with internet, to enable the students get most of their learning materials online. Accommodation College provides accommodation in the hostel to female forms of students ensure their safety while in the college. It also has an Auditorium for conducting various programs and seminar and hence increase the college cultural activities.

Government College, Attingal currently has a total of 11 courses where students can enroll in, which include the undergraduate and post graduate programs. The college offers six full time undergraduate programmes and five postgraduate programmes including doctoral programmes offered in the college. The total sanctioned strength of the college for students is 181 for different courses - B.Com, BA Economics, BA History, M.Com, M.Sc Polymer Chemistry, Ph.D Economics, B.Sc Mathematics. Specifically, the latest number of students graduating is not reported but the college has 790 students that show a rather significant academic population.

CH Mohammed Koya Scholarship

Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship

First year students belonging to BPL families with an aggregate of 50% in qualifying exams. 

Snehapoorvam Scholarship

Orphan children belonging to BPL or APL families with the family income between Rs 20,000 - Rs 22,375.

Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship

Students belonging to forward communities with a minimum aggregate of 70% in class 12. For PG courses, 60% for sconce and 55% in other subjects at UG level is mandatory.

Students belonging to bachelor’s and master’s degrees in natural and basic sciences are eligible.

Pratibha Scholarship Scheme

Son/ Daughters of Primary/ Secondary School Teachers that are first year students of HSC/ VHSC undergraduate courses are eligible. 

They must possess a minimum aggregate of 60% in class 12 with family income limit of Rs 1,00,000 per annum. 

Prof. Joseph Mundassery Scholarship Award

Students belonging to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddha, Parsis, Jain community.

MUslim Nadar Girls Scholarship

First year girl students in UG courses belonging to backward community or BPL student of forward community.

Post Graduate Scholarship for Rank Holders
