Government College, Barwala, was established in the year 2008 and is an affiliated college located in Hisar, Haryana. This growing campus is spread over 16 acres and has been steadily increasing the academic programs and student enrollment. The total student enrolment is 1,630, with a diverse intake consisting of boys totaling 888 and girls numbering 668, thus maintaining a good environment of gender inclusiveness in higher education. Government College, Barwala has 18 faculty members dedicated to making the institution of learning a place where students grow both in knowledge and stature.

Many facilities are provided in the college to cater to the overall learning and development of the students. A well-stocked library serves as an apex body that caters to meeting all their needs for books related to academic pursuits and research. Students who are keen about sports and physical fitness will find the college's sports facilities very stimulating and quite conducive to a healthy and active lifestyle. Government College, Barwala maintains departmental laboratories, hence ensuring hands-on experience in relevant courses. To be at par with the present world in the digital age, the college has provided excellent IT infrastructure, providing modern ways of teaching and learning that will assist students in fitting into the technologically driven world. Government College, Barwala offers a total of 5 courses, all of which are based on a full-time basis. These programs come at different levels of higher education and include three undergraduate, one postgraduate, and one postgraduate diploma course. All undergraduate courses, viz. BA, B.Com, and B.Sc., are three-year courses, while the M.Com, at the postgraduate level, extends to two years. Similarly, there is one-year PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications) that is offered by the college. Government College, Barwala, has an easy and simple procedure of admission for the convenience of the applicant.
