Government College Gangapur City was set up in 1977, affiliated to University of Rajasthan, is a Co-Educational institution situated in Sawai Madhopur District of Rajasthan. This affiliated college, which occupies a campus of 8.75 acres has been accorded accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). 

The college has various facilities that improve the learning of the students in the college. Five fully equipped science laboratories are used student practicals in science subjects to foster practical experience. In addition, the college has a computer lab in order to equip the learners with modern technology. A well-stocked library with 30000 books, daily newspapers and magazines provides an important information base to students and learning faculties. Concerning physical health, sporting amenities are provided to all students in the college. The college runs a canteen that supplies the required meals and products to the staff and students. Also, the college has a health center, and it has first aid facilities for the community of the college.

Government College located at Gangapur City currently has a total of nine courses that are all fully developed and full time courses. Some of the programs offered are under graduate level like B.A, B.Com, B.Sc (Mathematics Group), B.Sc (Biology Group) and post graduate like M.A, M.Com. The college has a very large enrolment capacity; it offers 960 seats for BA , 160 for B.Com;140 for B.Sc students of mathematics group and 70 for biology group students. Postgraduate courses contain MA Political Science and M.Com Accounting Business Statistics; the total seats are 60 each.
