Government College Mandya also known as autossh is an independent college set up in 1948 in Mandya, Karnataka. This college occupies an area of 32.08 acres, and since its establishment has been fostering young generation for over 70 years. 39 different courses are offered by the institution under 8 degrees programmes for total student enrolment of 2,416. The Echelon college has 28 competent teaching staffs who are dedicated to providing quality education and adequate student faculty ratio so as to give individual attention.

It is accredited to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC); in fact, it is very important for a college to strive for quality. As an independent college back up by the government of India, Government College Mandya has the advantage of designing curricula that would suit the needs of the student as well as the market. The college has opened its doors to a large number of courses in arts, commerce, science, management, computer application, and business administration, the favourite being MA in Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, M.Sc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and many more.

Government College, Mandya has developed host of facilities that supplement teaching-learning processes of the students. The college library, which was started at the time of the establishment of the college in 1948, has developed from a simple stock of 18 books to a vast depository of more than 66000 books. This knowledge hub is an important element in academic studies and receives 200-250 students a day. They also provide important e-journals and the UGC’s N-LIST programme so that the students keep them updated to their specific areas of learning.

The college provides the following full course options to the students enroled in different disciplines. The institution offers all level of education ranging from undergraduate to post graduate with common courses that includes BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, MA, M.Sc and M.Com. Admission to this college is based on merit and is open to all according to government policy. Raw marks in the previous qualifying examination will probably be given priority by the college as an admission criterion.
