The Government College of Engineering, Nagpur(GCOEN) is one of the best institutions dedicated to providing quality technical education in Maharashtra and it is a highly reputed institute. It is associated with the All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi, and has a well-structured admission procedure meant to select and award deserving candidates into its different engineering programs. GCOEN offers UG (BE) and PG (ME) programs in various engineering disciplines. Generally, it gives notifications for admissions after the completion and declaration of results of the concerned entrance examination. Though admissions usually vary from one year to another in dates, the formal admission process usually starts in May or June and is set for the academic year beginning in August or September.

The undergraduate programs provided by GCOEN base their admission on the performance of candidates in the state-level common entrance test, usually that of Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET); or Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. Degree-wise Admission Process

BE (Bachelor of Engineering): GCOEN admits students into five BE programs: Civil Engineering; Computer Science and Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering; and Mechanical Engineering. Admission into these five courses will be conducted through a performance of students in the MHT CET or JEE Main along with centralized counselling done by the state.

ME (Master of Engineering): GCOEN offers about 18 admissions per academic year for its ME degree program in Infrastructure Engineering and Technology. The ME degree course is generally on the basis of GATE Scores and Counseling. BE/BTech (relevant Discipline) may be eligible to apply.
