Government College Patharia, started in 2006, is one of the Co-educational institution situated at Damoh Madhya Pradesh. This affiliated college has a vast area of 12 acres of land and provides a great number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college enrolment at this institution is 2,505 students and faculty of 32 that are sufficient to support the higher learning. Government College, Patharia has the 14 courses to offer under 6 Degree Programmes of Arts, Commerce, and Science Streams. This can be seen from the quality syllabi, as well as the modern infrastructure, which the institution provides.

It is a college with several facilities aimed at improving the learning process for students of the college. A good library helps fit the information need of students by availing books and other academic materials for use in their study. Government College, Patharia has offered 14 courses out of which all the courses are full time. The faculties of the university are offering numbers of courses in arts, commerce, and science at both the under graduate and post graduate levels.

Though the procedure of admission is not clearly depicted regarding government colleges, there are always chances that the colleges take admission on the basis of merit which includes the marks scored in the qualifying examination. The College has academic programs which are B.A./B.Com /B.Sc with various combinations and P.G courses M.Com/MA in subjects as Economics, Geography, Hindi, Political Science and Sociology. Separately, Masters of Science in Botany, Chemistry Mathematics & Zoology are also provided.
