Government Degree College established in 2008 situated in Alair is a pride of the newly formed Yadadri Bhongir District in Telangana. Situated in Manthapur Road, rendering itself as an affiliated college, it occupies a well distributed area of 10 acres contributing to the right college to grow in. It is NAAC accredited institution as at now and has 112 students, 11 dedicated faculties members. GDC Alair offers four distinctive undergraduate courses in three categories of degrees for the students with different academic focus and career goals.

Government Degree College has numerous facilities that can improve learning and personal and social development for the college students. The primary of these are a semi-automated library containing 2140 books from references to competitive examination prep books. The Koha software powered library acts as an essential knowledge resource centre for the students as well as the faculties. Standard laboratories are used for practical experience in various subjects to enhance knowledge with skills. The presence of modern education in the institution is well illustrated by outstanding IT facilities making its students fit for the modern world.GDC Alair provides four complete Under Graduate courses out of which all are full time study. Present course are B.Sc Life Sciences, B.Sc Physical Sciences, B.Com Computers, BA in Economics History and Political Science. These programmes are offered to give the learners a solid background in areas of their choice in readiness for further learning or job market. Although the intake numbers for individual courses are unknown it can be said that the college has a total of 112 students meaning that interaction between the faculty and the students is easily achievable.
