Government Degree College, Arki (GDC Arki) is an esteemed college of Higher Education coming into existence from the year 1994. Set in the beautiful town of Arki in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, the college occupies a lush 7.39 acre of land. GDC Arki is an affiliated college and it has got the membership certification of NAAC which indicates the quality assurance of the college. The college provides nine courses in five degree programmes to 985 diverse and active students of the college. This college has a devoted body of instructional staff of 24 members, while keeping staff-student ratio low so that every student get individual attention and achieves a remarkable academic career at GDC Arki.

The Government Degree College also provides state of the art facilities required for the total learning need of the student. The learning facilities available in the college are a bonus to the general learning needs. The college has a library with more than 6628 books, 14 magazines, 10 journals, digital support through N-LIST with over 31235000 e-books and 9000 e-journal subscriptions. The resources include eight fully equipped laboratories, Information Technology, Biology, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Computer, Botany and Zoology. Some of the facilities in the school include; internet connection, hostel for girl students, a large enough hall for functions, and canteen. In terms of sports complex the college has exhibited responsibility towards the overall development of the students by having a spacious playground for outdoor games and a well built gymnasium side by side.

As mentioned above GDC Arki has the total offering of 9 undergraduate courses diversified in the different fields of study. The college offers both arts and science daily degree programmes and also offering B.Com and BCA courses. The B.Sc programme gives the following majors in Physics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics and Chemistry to access great scientific base. Regarding the total number of student enrolled daily in this college in all courses, the college take 985 students in order to maintain a good balance. Separated based on availability of seats the programmes looks like, B.Com having the maximum capacity of 140 students, followed by B.Sc and BA having an intake of 80 students each while BCA for IT science students has an intake of 20 students.
