Government Degree College Beerwah – Budgam, established in 2005 is an Affiliated College situated at Beerwah, Budgam District, Jammu and Kashmir. This Institution of higher learning is located in this spacious land of 7.25 acres which provides a perfect ambience for learning. Currently the college is fully accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) a sign of its quality in imparting education. It has a total of 1269 students and faculty members of 14 in its campus offering wide and various undergraduate programmes. This government college in Beerwah has set up its programme in such a way that it offers five distinct degree programmes for its students.

The Government Degree College has a number of installations to complement the learning process of its students. Library is located on the first floor of the main building; the library acts as a knowledge center offering variety of books and periodicals in the field of study. For those who have interest in games and sports the college has a functional Physical Education Department that promotes several games and sports activities on the college. The facility includes provision for cricket, volleyball, football, table tennis, badminton, chess, carom, kho-kho and other indoor games. The college also actively participates in the sports competition intercollegiate competitions of the University of Kashmir for healthy competition.

Government Degree College, Beerwah has five degree courses which are all full time courses with different specialisations in Bachelor’s degree programmes. These Courses include the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), the Bachelor of Arts (BA), BSc Biotechnology Major, BSc Water Management and the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). In total, the college offers students 1,269 places for the chosen courses, which creates a great chance for selected applicants. Though, it is difficult to obtain information regarding the graduation statistics of the latest year, the principle of the functioning of the college indicates a successful result for students.
