Government Degree College, Bhadarwah has the minority with the name GDC Bhadarwah well established in Bhadarwah Jammu and Kashmir. This affiliated college was started in 1955 and has been a home to young generation for more than six decades. The GU Choir; distributed over a 16 acres of land, GDC Bhadarwah has five thousand one hundred seventy four students enrolled in multiple disciplines they offer. This college has 36 committed faculty members assisting students through 12 courses in six different degree programmes. Due to a focused effort on delivering quality education to its learners, GDC Bhadarwah has emerged as an education hub in the state.

GDC Bhadarwah is equipped with ample of computerised laboratories for Computer science, Chemical lab for Chemistry, Bio labs for Botany & Zoology, Physics lab, Geography & Electronic labs to enhance the practical knowledge of students. The college library which is the central point of any learning institution boasts of a rich stock of books, magazines, journals, and research information Cutting across almost all disciplines. There are also the opportunities to become fit for the college sports facilities; a well-equipped modern gym, quality cricket grounds with sprawling well-turf, hockey and football grounds, adequate basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton courts. 

The GDC Bhadarwah today provides several academic programmes of academics to cater the interest and career of all students. The college offers twelve full courses of study, whether bachelor’s or master’s degrees. Among them are B.A, B.Sc, B.com, BCA at the under graduate level, whereas at post graduate level M.A in Urdu and M.Sc in Chemistry. B.Sc. programme provides several tracks based on Medical, Non-Medical, and Computer Applications to enable the students to focus on details they want in their professional background. There is no clear statement made by the college on the number of seats to be offered under each programme; however the total student intake for the college is 5174, which prove its capability to intake more number of students.

The policy of admission at Government Degree College, Bhadarwah is very competitive, but geared towards the admitted student, so everyone with the ability is given a chance to go to college. For postgraduate programmes, a relevant bachelor’s degree is required as a minimum requirement of any programme.
