School of Studies and Research, Government Degree College for Women, Kathua was set up in year 2005, is an affiliated college in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. Located in ward No. 2 of kathua district, their aim is to impart quality education to the women of this area. Loeb, the college has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and therefore the college oars forward in ensuring that high standards are achieved in the college. Billing itself as a college, it is spread over a sprawling 7.5 acre campus at the moment with a total student strength of 826 and teaching faculty of 27 members only. The institution offers two undergraduate degree programmes: BA and B.Sc which are the full courses that take three years to complete the whole programme.

School of Studies and Research has various facilities which help the learning, persona and general development of the students. This campus has 6 well equipped laboratories in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Computer application, Geography respectively. Computer Lab is quite special with facilities like Interactive Board, a fixed projector, an A/C, thirty-two networked computers with both wire less and wire-line networks, and round the clock power back up facility. The college library serves as a knowledge centre boasts of books of 10,542, comforts like comfortable seated arrangements, photocopier and internet concession. At the moment the library is in a process of full automation of their services in endeavour to enhance their service delivery.

Government Degree College for Women, Kathua, offers two main undergraduate programmes: BA or Bachelor of arts, and B.Sc or Bachelor of Science. These two courses are business programmes which take a full time study 3 years to complete. These two main disciplines help for a relative and intensive concentration in arts and science in the college. Though explicit percentage of the total awarded seats for each course is not reported, the overall student intake capacity of the college is 826, hence the college has a great potential for the interested students in the region.
