Government Degree College Kanchanpur (GDCK), started in 2012, is an affiliated college at Kanchanpur, North Tripura, India. This is a humanities college located on 9 acres of land which seeks to offer quality education to its students. GDCK is affiliated with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), thereby showing its willingness to adhere to high academic performance. The college currently as 8 courses in 2 programmes. GDCK is a known institution with 6 member-faculty strength mainly focusing to provide quality education and more individual attention for its students.

Government Degree College, Kanchanpur, also has the following facilities that contribute to the improvement of the learning facilities of the learners. The main strength of this academic component of GDCK is the library that contains a lot of useful books for students. The college has a centralised computer facility consisting of ten newly installed desk top computers, managed by the faculty of Information technology, who also offer special training when necessary, to the students and the staff of the college. 

For physical fitness and recreation, GDCK provide a play ground for football and cricket, badminton court and volley ball court. The campus also has an auditorium to host events and seminars, a health centre to facility first aid, a cafeteria and the faculty/guest house to accommodate the visiting faculty and students’ family members respectively. The college has given importance for the learning process as it is having seven class rooms among them there is one smart class rooms which having teaching aids like projector.

The courses offered at Government Degree College, Kanchanpur are total of eight undergraduate courses all of which are full time programmes. The college offers Bachelor of Arts (BA) programmes with different honours disciplines. It offers 462 approved intake for all courses to show that the college has the capacity to enrol and offer quality education to many learners. 

The Government Degree College, Kanchanpur has the policy of conventional method which is merit-based. Students are selected based on merit through a list drawn in order to ensure that the right students are placed in programmes. Admission to the undergraduate programmes is offered based on the scores obtained from the Common University Entrance Test Under Graduate popularly known as CUET UG. Such a national level entrance examination gives a fair test of the competency and the knowledge of the students, which the college vows to uphold high standards of achievement.
