Government Degree College, Kishtwar (GDC Kishtwar) is a government affiliated college in the Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is an affiliated college which was established in 1986 and they have been molding young learners for more than thirty years. GDC Kishtwar with a campus size of 11.39 acres offers a wide understanding of the various undergraduate programmes and it is providing to its total of 1,288 students enroled. It has a faculty composition of 19 highly committed and talented members focusing on staff-students quality ratio. At present, 9 courses have been offered by GDC Kishtwar in 3 different degree programmes which caters the students of different interests and develop learning atmosphere necessary for academic as well as personal growth.

This college aims to deliver and maintain modern teaching aids to improve the learning outcome of it students. GDC Kishtwar possesses well-developed laboratories that enables practical demonstrations in different faculties. The college library is indeed a valuable centre for learning, possessing a rich stock of books and journals. Over 16600 books in different subjects are stocked with the college library. That way students can get updated information with current publications, scholarly journals, magazines, and newspapers promoting a true spirit of research. It also avails state of the art facilities like reprographic services, browsing area and a reading room which can occupy 30 students at a time. In response to the technological innovations the library has gone through the process of being automated and student’s information is gotten through modern innovative technology such as inter-library lane, e-books, and e-journals subscriptions among others.

GDC Kishtwar is providing many undergraduate programmes and all its courses are running on full time basis. The college offers 9 different subjects offered under 3 degree programmes that cover different fields of learning and enable students to achieve their dreams. These include common courses of study as BA, B.Sc (Medical and Non-Medical), B.Com, and among others, the specialised courses such as BA Computer Applications, B.Sc with Computer Applications, and BA Geography. The overall total student capacity from the existing intakes stands at one thousand two hundred and eighty-eight, which shows his cutting edge to deliver quality education to a relatively large number of students.
