Government Degree College, Kodur, was started in the year 1983. The coeducational college is located in a sprawling area of 9 acres in Krishna, Andhra Pradesh. The affiliated college has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, thus adhering to quality in education. It has 9 courses in 6 programmes to suit many academic interests. The faculty consists of 15 dedicated individuals, and the institution ensures that the student body comprises 49 to provide students with personalised attention for excellence and growth in their respective pursuits. 

Government Degree College,Kodur is supported by a variety of amenities that help enhance the learning experience of the students. The library in the college stocks about 7,500 books, and serves as a knowledge centre with conventional and e-learning facilities through Inflibnet. There is also a fully-equipped gymnasium in the campus for the physically conscious. Sports students play Kabaddi, Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball, and Athletics, and regularly participate in intercollegiate and district-level meets. The IT infrastructure is supplemented by 70 computers distributed in two laboratories managed by the Computer Science Department. It also has three digital classrooms viz., BA, BCom, and BSc. Laboratories are well-equipped to facilitate practical classes so that students will get proper exposure to their fields of study. 

These vary from traditional courses like BA in History, Economics, and Political Science, BCom, and B.Sc in Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry to the more specialised options like B.Com in Computer Applications and B.Sc in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. The institution has recently introduced honours courses in Political Science, Computer Applications, Chemistry, and Computer Science which show its commitment toward advanced learning.
