Permanently affiliated to Osmania University, Government Degree College, Koratla (GDC Koratla) commenced its journey in the year 1981. It is affiliated college situated at Koratla, Telangana having area of 25 acres of land. The college is NAAC accredited which forms a proof to the quality education that is offered at GDC Koratla. The college has 9 undergraduate courses in 3 degree programmes with 374 undergraduates in the institution. The college has 8 dedicated faculties in its team to ensure that the student teacher ratio is optimal. It boasts of equal gender distribution: 53% of the students are female while 47% are males.

A variety of infrastructure facilities have been put in place at Government Degree College, Koratla to improve learners’ experience. The college’s library flamboyantly boasts of having 4,840 books in its possession, with sub genres touching on modern areas of study such as Biotechnology, Information Technology and Microbiology. There are varieties of journals, magazines and newspapers made available to the students for their academic independence. The institution takes considerable care of the students’ health through provision of a modern gymnasium and a sports department that enlists the students to participate in athletic events in college, zone, state and national levels. The college also boasts with an E-Classroom that is a fusion between learning and technology making it easier to understand concepts enhanced by the use of ICT.

Government Degree College, Koratla has nine undergraduate courses; There are 9 full-time programmes. These courses can be done across the spectrum in Arts, Commerce and Science. The courses include BA programmes, B.Com Computer Applications, B.Sc programmes etc. The total enrolment is 374 students and though there is no specific details of the number of students to be taken for each course offered. The college aims to make primary education meaningful and quality in Telugu & Urdu medium for linguistic comfort of the society.

Government Degree College, at Koratla follows an open and simple admission process for all students applying to the college. Like most colleges in Andhra Pradesh, this also has two major media of instructions – both Telugu and Urdu are taught giving the students from the two different linguistic regions a chance.
