Government Degree College Rayachoti was started in the year 1978 at Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh and it was affiliated college. Spread across 10.01 acres of land, this college/university has got accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Some of the undergraduate courses offered in this college include a total of 8courses and are offered across the three degrees. The college has a total enrollment of currently two hundred and twenty four students while the faculty members are sixteen making the ration ratio teaching students manageable. The institution boasts itself as delivering quality education in different disciplines, in Arts, Commerce and Sciences with specialisations in subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Botany, Zoology and History.

It also has a collection of 100 CD and 6,000 e-books, 50 of which are classified as rare books so that the students will have access to enormous amount of information at their disposal. The campus is also Wi-Fi complied and avails the students’ needs for online facilities and to be connected. For practical lessons the college has departmental laboratory making it easy for students to cope with hands on experience. There is LAN connectivity now with twenty-five computers, and the branch has a twenty MBPS broadband. Toward this end, the college has a twelve-station gym and various sports facilities such as volleyball, kabaddi, ball badminton, etc., in the supervision of a Physical Director. 

A total of 9 courses are taught at Government Degree College Rayachoti and all this courses are for full time only. These courses span across three main streams: Among these common course types are, Bachelors of Science (B.Sc), Bachelors of Commerce (B.Com), and Bachelors of Arts (BA). The college offers the medium of English in addition to the regional medium, namely Mediums like Telugu and Urdu. The approved total intake for all the courses is 480 which shows the’s ability to enrol a large number of would-be students every academic year.
