Government Degree College, Uravakonda, was established in the year 1980. This is a co-educational institution located in Anantapur of Andhra Pradesh. This affiliated college, accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, has a varied undergraduate programme. It has a total area of 12 acres of land with a total student strength of 920, out of which 64% are male while the remaining 36% are female. The institution offers 13 courses in 7 major degree programmes. The focus shall definitely go to science, commerce, and arts streams. The strength of the faculty is 5, and again, this college adheres to high-quality education in diversification into different specialisations. 

Government Degree College offers a plethora of facilities to students. A spacious 16-acre playground caters to outdoor sports like handball, cricket, kabaddi, kho-kho, and volleyball, while table tennis, chess, and caroms can be enjoyed on campus. A partially automated library of over 12,000 volumes and 6 journals provided a conducive environment for academic research and study. Labs for Physics and Chemistry are well-established. The institution also hosts a 16-station gym, a computer laboratory with 20 new computers, and a Wi-Fi-enabled campus. Added to this are facilities for a canteen, a seminar hall, and first-aid provisions for the welfare of students. The alumni network is kept active by the college, and there is a placement cell to help students as they graduate. 

Government Degree College, Uravakonda offers a total of 13 undergraduate courses, all full-time. These courses include those in the departments of Arts, Commerce, and Sciences.
