Government Dental College, Kadapa, is one of the most prominent institutions in the field of dental education. It was established in the year 2008. The affiliated college is located in Putlampalli Village, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, spread over a campus of 7.2 acres in area. GDC, Kadapa received approval from the DCI, New Delhi, to start various courses of dental nature for aspiring dental professionals. The strength of students  is 476, while the faculty members are 78 in number.

GDC Kadapa offers a wide range of dental programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The college provides 9 full-time courses: 1 undergraduate program (BDS) and 8 postgraduate programs. The intake of the approved BDS course is 100 seats—this forms the backbone of the dental education imparted in the institution. The college offers postgraduate specialisations in various branches of MDS, with a 3-seat intake for each postgraduate specialisation, except for MDS Prosthodontics and Crown with 2 seats. They are Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontology, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry.

Admission at Government Dental College, Kadapa is based majorly on the national level entrance examinations. Basis of admissions to the BDS program is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Candidates need to qualify NEET and take part in due counselling. For MDS programs at the postgraduate level, the basis of admission is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET MDS). Admissions are scheduled well in advance as per the stipulated schedule by the respective examination authorities.
