Government Dental College, Thrissur Admission

It is currently located in Thrissur on the Medical College Campus. It is permitted to be recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI). The college provides quality dental education, modern infrastructure, and teaching management amenities. Government Dental College, Thrissur has a centralized merit admission procedure. Another major program is offered by the College, namely a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), which is a full-time five-year program helping to train dentists. Admission to the BDS course is through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), mandatory for Indian students wishing to admit into dental colleges across India. In general, the academic year often begins during the August-September period, with the admission process commencing a few months before that. The dates concerning the admission process such as submission of forms, counseling, and dates of results for admission will generally be published on the official website of the Kerala state medical education authorities. 

Eligibility Criteria to Join the BDS Program:

  • 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects
  • Minimum age of 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission
  • Valid NEET score meeting the set cutoff criteria established by the authorities

Application Process

1. NEET Registration and Examination:

  • Register for NEET at the NTA website
  • Appear for the NEET examination at the date stipulated
  • Score the qualifying score

2. Application in State: Qualified applicants after the release of the NEET result are required to complete the Kerala state medical education portal application and upload all papers required-neet score card, 10+2 mark sheet, and other certificates as prescribed.

3. Document verification: Candidates who were among those short-listed will be called for verifying documents. Originals should be presented for validation.

4. Counselling and Seat Allotment: Centralized counselling will be conducted by state authorities, and candidates are to choose Government Dental College, Thrissur, as per their preference and availability of seats.

5. Admission Confirmation: If allocated a seat, report to Government Dental College, Thrissur on the specified date. All admission works, including payments and collection of documents, will be done as required.
