Government dungar college Bikaner was started in 1937 is one of the reputed co-educational institution located in the heart of Bikaner city in Rajasthan. Situated in a vast area of 91.43 acres, the college continues to deliver education for more than eight decades. Being NAAC accredited the university facilitates a rich range of undergraduate and post graduate programmes in over diverse fields of study. Total enrollment of the college is 11,203 students out of which 85% students are under graduate and 15% are post graduate. Currently, the institute has 139 faculty members and encompasses 53 courses in 8 degree programmes.

The college is also well endowed with the appropriate facilities to cater for the needs of the students both in terms of academic activity as well as personal growth. This library has a collection of around 1,50,000 books and old encyclopedias/hooks and other historical books for references. The sports facilities are impressive containing a indoor hall- court facility, volleyball court and basketball court all of which are international standard. The college also has well equipped laboratories in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Geography Practical to support practical teachings. To provide facilities for female students most of whom come from remote areas, a girls’ hostel was constructed in 2014 to house 70 boarders; ensuring security and comfort.
