Government Engineering College, Bhuj (GEC Bhuj), is a premiere institute established in the year 1994 under the Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat. This affiliated college, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has been involved in the preparation of future engineers for close to three decades. Situated in the open, sprawling campus of 56.24 acres, the college provides a supporting learning and growing environment. This college offers a congenial student-teacher ratio, with 2,005 students under 44 faculties.

GEC Bhuj boasts a state-of-the-art infrastructure that is conductive to developing an overall personality in a student. The college has separate laboratories for respective departments that are well-equipped and allow students to practice in different fields of engineering. The library is a knowledge pool with an enriched collection of books, journals, and digital resources. The campus also has excellent sports facilities for those who are interested in keeping their physical fitness, to remain motivated in the world of sports, and enthused by team spirit. The institute offers various engineering programs. There are six courses for Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) and two courses for Master of Technology (M. Tech). All the eight courses are full-time regular courses giving knowledge and gaining experiences in various engineering disciplines. The total intake that has all the courses combined has 336 seats, which gives ample opportunity for students who wish to be engineers. The student admission process for GEC Bhuj is very fair and transparent. The major characteristics for B.Tech courses include admissions through the Gujarat Common Entrance Test, a state level entry-level test designed to estimate the aptitude of candidates for studies in the field of engineering. Admissions to the M.Tech programs are made through test scores of the Gujarat Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (GUJCET).
