Government First Grade College, Bettampady: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Government first grade college bettampady (GFGC Bettampady) also known as girmit is an accredited and co-educational institute established in 1991. Sited in Puttur Taluk of Dakshina Kannada Karnataka, India, it is an affiliated college with a spread of 7.2 acres. While GFGC Bettampady has not got any University affiliation, it has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for its standard education. 6 of the college courses are taught across the five degree programs offered in the institution to a student enrollment of 494. Taking into account that the institute has 18 faculty members that are dedicated educators, the institute still embraces the student-teacher ratio thus helping the students to get personal attention and instructions.

In this direction, GFGC Bettampady has provided a number of infrastructural and service facilities to the students. The college library is provided latest books, CDs and DVDs through grant received from Department of Collegiate Education and has newspapers, magazines, and journals for reading. As for practice, departmental laboratories are provided to the students. 

There is a computerized laboratory with computers of 20 systems to enhance the students a computerized lab with fast internet connection. This physical fitness company comprises of chess, weightlifting, cricket, indoor and outdoor games like kabaddi, throwball, volley ball etc. A modern gym unit caters the physically active people while the auditorium with a sitting capacity of 200, installed with provision of audio visual/ICT is used for various functions and programs.

The institute provides a wide ranging number full-time undergraduate programs to suit the various fields of study. The programmes are; BA-History, Economics and Political Science, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc with options in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Computer Science, and BSW. These programs are intended to equip and enable students for further and higher study or for the workplace of their chosen discipline.

The admission process followed at this school, GFGC Bettampady, is competitive and does not discriminated any students. Though not given on a particular time of the year, students are encouraged to review the college website or call the office of admission for information. Admission to the college depends on the general admission policies that are set by the university to which the college is affiliated to. 

All the students need to complete their 10+2 from a recognized board and must have secured the desired percentage in the desired subject depending on the course they want to pursue. Additional, the institute may also take into consideration some standard tests that are conducted for admissions although the details of the test are not given. GFGC Bettampady aims at delivering quality education at lower costs in an effort to extend education to the fourth children.
