Government First Grade College, Gundlupet, is an affiliated college which was set up in 2007 in Chamarajnagar, Karnataka and at present, operates from Gundlupet. Located on the 3312.82 sq m of campus area, this institution provides various undergraduate programmes to 956 students. The college employs a number of faculty that comprise of 19 teachers to encourage individual attention. The college has obtained accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), as a measure to assuring standard education was offered. The institution provides seven courses across four degrees that it offers in Arts, Commerce, and Science stream.

Government First Grade College, Gundlupet, has put in place facilities that will help to support the learning process as well as complement the teaching-learning process. The institution provides accommodation in different hostels for boys and girls respectively to improve the students' comfort. The campus is blessed with a well stocked library as well as a reading room which comfortably can contain over ten students at a time. Pupils’ welfare is maintained by creating adequate first aid station and fire alarms with extinguishers in all the buildings. Government First Grade College, Gundlupet, has designed and offered seven full time undergraduate courses. These are four BA programmes for a variety of specialisations offered in History, Economics, Political Science, Geography, Sociology and Kannada. In addition, undergraduate programmes offered by the college include BBA coursefor those students interested in business administration, B.Com gor commerce wing students and B.Sc for science stream students with majors in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. All these programmes are planned as full time, three years courses of study with aims at covering various fields of learning and different vocations. This has been expanded to accommodate a total student intake capacity in the institution of 956, as a way of offering quality education to the highest number of students in the region.
