Government First Grade College Malur was started in the year 1988, located at Kolar, Karnataka is one of the premier institutions in the state. NAAC accredited affiliated college offering various Undergraduate and Post Graduate courses in different disciplines are being provided here. The college is established on 2.3 acre area; Total student strength of the college is 1513 and the faculty members of the college are 26 experienced teachers. The institution offers arts, commerce and science streams with 7 courses for students.

Government First Grade College does make efforts to create a balanced learning environment for the students. It has a facility that contains over 28,064 books in various fields and sub-fields of specialisation and its push to be a digital library is ongoing. It adopts new teaching methods with ICT facilities such as LCD Projectors, Over head Projectors, Computers, and other Audio Visual facilities. Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics have well equipped laboratories while the school has a computer laboratory connected with Wi-Fi facility. Extra curricular activities include sports facilities such as gym and an auditorium for other events in the college.

Government First Grade College, Malur has introduced full-time course combination and each department offers numerous specialisation courses according to the demand of the students. Besides, at postgraduate level the college offers Masters of Arts in Economics degree programme.
