Government First Grade College Navalgund came into existence in 2007 is an Affiliated College situated in Navalgund, Karnataka. Located on a fairly small plot of 4 acres of land, this college has been improving its results in raising the quality of education in the region. It undertakes its programmes in affiliated colleges and is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to ensure that quality standards in the college are upheld. Holding 795 students and 10 faculty members, the college provides individualised education experience in four bachelor’s degrees.
Government First Grade College has put in place many facilities with an intention of improving the interview skills for the students. At the centre of these is the library which was set up at the same time as the college in 2007. It will contain books, journals, and reference materials as its collection keeping into view five laws of library science for its benefit of users. To supplement practical lessons in different fields within the college, there is also functional laboratory facilities. For those with needs there are both boy’s and girl’s hostels to accommodate all the students and make their living comfortably. The single campus of the university has a health centre that is equipped for first aid, a sports hall for exercise and the incorporate use of modern technology for instruction. Parking space is also made available in order to serve the interest of the faculty, staff, student and other people.

B.A. (Bachelor of Arts): The college is affiliated to a Bachelors in Arts programme, which admits a total of 200 students per academic session. Those who score high marks in the 12th standard examination are fit and eligible for admission into the B.A. program. The B.A. is available to students who passed their 10+2 with Arts subjects or equivalent.
B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce): It is a B.Com program having 80 seat intake. Admission into this B.Com program is conducted based on marks secured in the examination at the 12 level. Candidates have studied Commerce or an allied subject at their 10+2 level; therefore, they are given preference for this B.Com program, while students from other streams may be considered based on merit and availability of seats.
B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science: This program has a total intake of 60 seats. Admission is based on the marks secured in the 12th standard. Eligible students must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the 10+2 level.
Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA): The allocation of students to the BBA program by the college is 40. Admission is purely on the basis of the academic performance in the 12th standard since students who have studied Commerce or Business Studies are given preference. On the other hand, students from other streams may also apply given that they fulfill the eligibility set by the college.
