This is a first grade college established and run by the Government of Karnataka which is situated at Vidya Nagar, Sedam, Gulbarga (Karnataka). This co-educational college was established in 1985 and has been in existence preparing young people for nearly four decades. Situated in 6 acres, GFGCS is an affiliated college providing NAAC accreditation. The college has an overall student strength of 2066 students and 20 faculties, with 20 courses offered under 7 degree programmes. GFGCS believe in imparting quality education in various streams of arts, commerce and science.

Government of Karnataka has put in place various facilities to improve the learning process of their students in college. A modern equipped library is a source of knowledge in any institution, which extends the student’s access to quality academic material. There are two gymnasiums as well as sports fields for all students interested in health and maintaining the proper balance between physical training and study at the college. It also seeks to develop in students a technological literacy that will enable them to work proficiently in the contemporary society Before presenting a number of congratulations to the new Chancellor, it is necessary to admitted that IT infrastructure at GFGCS prepared students for productive work to digits. A cafeteria on campus is available as a break and recreation place for the learners. The college also has facilities for practicals as every department has well equipped laboratories. Ergonomics are maintained with accommodation having a health centre that has amenities for first aid. Further, to increase the students’ networking, GFGCS established an alumni association which will be of importance to both course attendees and pass outs.

To this end, the GFGCS provides a great variety of academic programmes to meet the needs of the prospective students with various preferences for their future professions. The college offers 20 courses comprising fully funded undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This covers a wide area of specialisation including Commerce, Arts, Computer Applications, Business Administration and Sciences. These programmes are some of the most sought after undergraduate programmes available including B.Com, BCA, BBA and several combinations of the BA and B.Sc streams. For the postgraduate learners, the college has post graduate degrees such as M.Com, MA in Economics, and MA in Political Science.
